****Please note that all of this is weather dependent.****

  • As of this morning 08/02/2018, all concrete pavement has been poured in the area of the Clinton Street intersection. This involves the area from the west side of the railroad tracks, approximately 600 LF to the west on W. Lake Street, and the corresponding lanes on Clinton Street. Ptaschinski Construction completed the final pavement pour for this area yesterday (Wed. 7/31), which was the northern lane. As outlined in the update from last week (7/25), the road will be reopened to Industrial Park related traffic beginning on Monday morning (8/6) at 8:00 a.m., which consists of the Clinton Street intersection and W. Lake Street from both the east and west. Traffic barricades will remain up in their current locations, but will be positioned to allow vehicles to pass. The project limits remain closed to thru traffic, which has no destination or business within the Industrial Park or along W. Lake Street within the project area. The road is being reopened for the businesses located within the Industrial Park and the employees of these businesses.

The remainder of W. Lake Street from Clinton Street to Industrial Drive will be constructed under traffic, so please remind your employees to drive slowly and utilize caution when driving through the work zone, as there will be a number of workers out there working in close proximity to the open traffic lanes. Slower speeds will not only help keep workers safe, but also help reduce the amount of dust that is created during construction as traffic will be traveling on gravel until such time that it can be moved over to the new concrete pavement. It is also encouraged that any incoming/outgoing truck traffic utilize the detour from the west as much as possible to help reduce the amount of traffic and dust through this area. However, should truck traffic utilize this route, please relay to them the need for reduced speeds, caution, and the possibility of delays and tight lanes.

Week of 08/06/2018:  the contractor will begin preparing and pouring the concrete pavement at the intersection of Industrial Drive. The intersection pavement will be poured in halves, which will provide access to Industrial Drive at all times. Once the intersection pavement is completed at Industrial Drive, the contractor will focus on prepping and pouring the concrete pavement for the remaining portion of the northern lanes between Industrial Drive and Clinton Street. New curb & gutter will be installed in the coming weeks in the areas of Clinton Street and Industrial Drive where it had existed prior to construction.
