About

The Friends of Horicon Library is a non-profit organization, formed in 1987, are committed to supporting library activities, encouraging reading, and promoting culture in the community. The Friends raise funds to sponsor the Cabin Fever Series, the Summer Library Program, Children’s and Teen programming, and the extremely popular Milwaukee County Zoo Pass.

Fundraisers include the year-round book sale, the annual Basket Raffle, bake and craft sales, and food sales at the Music at the Market series and, and ongoing candy bar sales.

With grants and donations from local businesses, the Friends have been able to provide financial support to the library for specific purchases such as the fountain in front of City Hall and children’s room furnishings. Over the years, the Friends have also focused spending to meet shortfalls in collections.
